Az első rész szépen termelt a kasszáknál, a második viszont csalódás volt a stúdió részéről, mivel jóval alulteljesítette az elvárásokat, ezért a Disney úgy döntött, hogy átadja másnak a lehetőséget, ők nem kérnek többet Narniából, a Fox le is csapott a lehetőségre. A harmadik felvonást Michael Apted rendezi és az első két részben látotott színészek is visszatérnek.
